DAY-TO-DAY FOR A WELDING - METAL FABRICATION TEACHER

This full-time teaching position in human services works during the day.

You love working as a Welding - Metal Fabrication Teacher with our nonprofit! In this instructional position, you are responsible for teaching students both theoretical and hands-on curriculum in the skilled trades classroom. You get to decide the most effective ways to deliver training and instruction, and you prepare all the necessary materials, locations, and supplies accordingly. Your excellent communication skills will come in handy as you explain and demonstrate tasks to your students and emphasize safety aspects of the jobs and tasks. Because you are detail-oriented, you also review job safety analyses with each student to ensure they fully understand the importance of safety in the workplace.

As an experienced welder instructor, you schedule, organize, and provide supplemental training when necessary, and ensure that all tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimal performance and safety. You guide, assign, schedule, and supervise each student's work, ensuring that all tasks are completed in accordance with the assigned curriculum. When it comes to evaluating student performance, you provide timely and constructive feedback based on performance and goals, helping each student to achieve their full potential. With your instructional expertise, you also ensure that each student follows all established rules and meets expectations for appropriate conduct within the school. And as required, you participate in professional and individual career development sessions to stay up to date on best practices in your field.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A WELDING - METAL FABRICATION TEACHER

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in the trade
• Thorough understanding of the correct and safe operation of all manually operated and power-related tools and equipment
