JOB SUMMARY
The Material Handlers in Operations are responsible for making sure that production activities are supplied with materials. They remove finished product from the end of the line, mop floors, clean air vents and stage product for future jobs.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
- Maintains lot integrity of component and product issues, delivers furnished goods to the quarantine area. Delivers work in progress materials to appropriate staging areas.
- Stages production lines with bulk drug and packaging components for upcoming jobs
- Collaborate with other departments to determine supply needs, purchase supplies and materials according to specifications and coordinate shipping and receiving activities.
- Collects and removes production waste and recyclables from the staging area and delivers to the designated areas. Arrange for and manage the periodic removal from site and destruction of waste materials by a registered waste handler.
- Performs all required activities for receiving shipments of goods into the plant.
- Performs all required activities for shipping goods out of the plant, which may include scheduling transportation.
- Maintains Hazard Awareness and Dangerous Goods certifications.
- Maintains the Safety Data Sheet library.
- Assists with line clean up and product changeovers.
- Performs routine checks to insure that the quality and production standards are met and that no violations to cGMP’s occur during the shipping/receiving/warehousing of any product.
- Maintains a safe clutter free staging area, removing any excess waste containers or empty pallets.
- Cleans areas during changeovers or as scheduled, following cGMP’s and SOP’s
- Coordinate with project manager and utilize Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) tools to ensure adequate supply of materials for production batches.
- Must participate and successfully complete all training as required by the company.
- Provides lift truck training to all personnel.
- Coordinates with operations to keep the department stocked with drums of alcohol, soap, cases of trash liners, cleaning cloths, etc.
- Follows directions from the Lead Operators to meet customer demands and departmental goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED with some experience in related field or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Forklift certification is a plus
- Ability to follow GMP’s and SOP’s
- Good computer skills
