Job Summary

Join UT Southwestern as a Manager, Ambulatory Patient Access at Simmons Cancer Center and join a group of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing the best of care.

This person will lead patient access operations by directly managing supervisors and staff. This position ensures that ambulatory services are accessed efficiently by identifying gaps and opportunities in access operations, provider templates, referring physician related process and programs. Assures processes and procedures are aligned with Health System established standards.

Job Duties

• Provides leadership and coordination of patient access-related changes organization and proactively understand and mitigate downstream impacts on scheduling, templates and triage processes.
• Ensures that ambulatory services are accessed efficiently by identifying gaps and opportunities in access operations, provider templates, referring physician related process and programs
• Manages, creates and maintains a goal-oriented climate of cross-team collaboration for effective problem solving, conflict resolution, support for organizational values and standard work. Actively promotes team-building, staff development and participation to engage employees in continuous delivery of high-value, customer-oriented services and solutions
• Ensures staff adherence to training, scheduling and triage protocols, quality assurance, established workflow and customer service standards. Develop and maintain a training for new staff.
• Works collaboratively with teams across the organization to ensure the implementation and optimization of patient workflows, provider templates, scheduling and call triage protocols to ensure patient access to services are delivered smoothly, efficiently, and timely.
• Evaluates and reports performance by developing, analyzing and interpreting key performance indicators, staffing needs, trends, and detailed audit reporting. Responsible and accountable for maintaining/establishing service level agreements with clinical department leaders.
• Monitors applicable industry trends, established benchmarks/targets and emerging solutions to drive continuous improvement opportunities to assure timely patient access and positively impact on patient outcomes.
• Performs other duties as assigned. 

Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing or other related field,
• Four (4) years’ experience in clinic and/or business operations, academic medical center, health care management, or call center management. 
• Must have EPIC related work experience.
• Will consider additional years of experience in lieu of education.
