Job Posting: Manual Lathe Machinist
Location: Bryan/College Station
Type: Full-Time
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Machinist to join our clients team in Bryan, Texas. This role involves performing manual machining, finishing, and assembly operations on a variety of parts, tooling, and fixtures. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality and efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate various types of manual and numerically controlled machine shop equipment including, but not limited to, cylindrical and surface grinding, burring, blasting, engine lathes, and honing.
Work from specifications and design criteria including verbal instructions, drawings, and blueprints.
Perform standard shop computations relating to dimensions o work and tooling.
Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments; maintain accurate dimensional tolerances based upon drawings.
Improvise production aides as necessary to facilitate operations.
Rework and calibrate production parts or assemblies and machine tooling as required.
Maintain thorough knowledge of all applicable safety requirements and considerations.
Provide all required reports and/or correspondence.
Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and routers/travelers.
Strong understanding of Geometrical Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T)
Excellent communication and basic math skills.
Knowledgeable in the use and interpretation of measuring tools and gauges.
High commitment to excellence and maintaining standards.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage priorities and workflow effectively.
Versatile and flexible with the ability to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Mechanical aptitude with keen interest in working hands-on.
Acute attention to detail.
Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
Familiar with safety requirements and cautions.
Ability to perform physical labor as necessary.
Self-motivated with positive attitude.
Must have reliable transportation.
Ability to lift 25-50 lbs.
Special Note:
We will not be considering candidates primarily experienced as CNC Operators for this position. It is crucial that applicants have specific experience as a Manual Lathe Machinist , and this must be clearly presented on their resume to be considered for this role.
