They are seeking a dedicated Property Accountant to join their Finance team. With close to 50 properties in their portfolio and a 10% annual growth rate, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, high-volume environment where no two days are the same.
As a Property Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in the financial operations of this organization, focusing on all aspects of accounting and reporting for a portfolio of 4-7 full-service hotels. In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for managing the month-end closing process, posting journal entries, performing bank reconciliations and preparing financial statements. Each Accountant will oversee approximately 4-7 properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial activities.
Property Accountant Responsibilities:
Manage the month-end close process for assigned properties, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial tasks
Post journal entries and reconcile accounts to maintain financial accuracy and integrity
Conduct bank reconciliations and address discrepancies in a proactive manner
Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for review by senior management
Collaborate with property management teams to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis as needed
Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency
Provide support during internal and external audits, addressing inquiries and providing documentation as required
Property Accountant Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Previous experience in property accounting and month-end close processes preferred
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proficiency in Sage Intacct and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and excellence
CPA designation or progress towards certification is a plus
