What you'll do...
We are seeking an Area Manager Asset Protection to join our team in beautiful Winter Haven, FL! Winter Haven is located between Orlando, FL and Tampa, FL. The distribution center is a high performing facility with over 1,000 employees.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and expertise in various areas, including environmental data and digital literacy, environmental protection, operational excellence, partnership and collaboration, employee health and safety, asset protection and security, training delivery, risk management, process improvement, influential communication, and transportation operations.
What you’ll do:
- This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time
- Develop, coordinate, and manage the Company’s safety programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local government laws
- Develop and implement technology changes across multiple processes
- Develop and implement health and safety plans, enforce policies, assess risk, and ensure compliance with legal guidelines
- Conduct training, investigate incidents, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Integrate AP considerations into process design
- Develop and implement company policies and procedures relating to environmental risks
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, OSHA, EPA, DOT and more
- Train, motivate, and monitor employees and management in safe practices including: Hazardous Communications, bloodborne pathogens, respirator use, lock-out/tag-out, fire protection, and safe lifting
- Identify and engage stakeholders and support process updates and changes
- Solve simple business issues and demonstrate functional knowledge of the business unit
- Participate in OSHA and other regulatory inspections
- Maintain health and safety records according to OSHA guidelines
- Monitor facilities for safety hazards and report violations and accidents
- Assist in the implementation of access control procedures and maintain loss prevention records
- Maintain accurate and current records in accordance with guidelines
- Ensures training programs are reviewed annually to ensure they are current and remain compliant with federal, state and local laws in the United States
- Implement risk management processes and conduct risk assessments
- Define critical workflows and identify and improve process problems
- Inspects facilities, machinery, equipment, and personnel practices to identify potential safety and health concerns and hazards
- Communicate effectively within the scope of work and present to team members and partners
- Analyze incident reports, metrics and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer environment
- Build professional networks and actively listen to others
- Monitor and evaluate performance metrics and review accident files
What you need:
- Proficient knowledge in data collection, analytics, asset protection policies, health, safety and environmental, operational processes, stakeholder management, OSHA guidelines, asset protection policies, training methodologies, risk management processes, and process improvement techniques
- Excellent communication skills both orally and written and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to lead and teach a team
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
- Familiarity with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety Management; Criminal Justice, Security, Industrial Hygiene; Environmental Science, or related field.
Option 2: 2 years' experience in the field of Environmental, Health and Safety or Asset Protections, Security, within Supply Chain, Retail.
Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
