Job description
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our client in Wilmington, DE! The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the company, contributing to the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes. This position supports the Accounting Manager and Controller in various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This Direct-Hire opportunity offers an annual salary range of $75,000-$95,000/year based on experience!Primary Responsibilities:
Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes by completing journal entries, analysis, and processes in a timely and efficient manner.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal financial reporting packages for senior management.
Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations and resolve any reconciling items.
Prepare and record revenue-related entries for different company segments.
Prepare supporting schedules and conduct reserve calculations on key liability account balances.
Record and maintain fixed asset activity in the company’s sub ledger.
Prepare and record monthly employee benefit-related entries.
Assist the Accounting Manager and Controller with required submissions to parent companies or regulatory bodies.
Perform all standard operating procedures and maintain documentation in support of key internal controls.
Prepare ad-hoc reports/financial analysis and other assignments as requested by department management.
Perform fleet-related lease accounting, analysis, and reporting as required.
Participate in process improvement projects and special assignments (departmental and company-wide) as assigned by department management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance required.
CPA certification strongly preferred.
Master’s degree or MBA, a plus.
Minimum of 4 or more years of working experience in either private or public accounting.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, internal controls, and professional standards related to accounting.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications with strong to advanced Excel skills.
Ability to clearly communicate accounting issues with individuals and groups in a range of settings, using a mix of verbal and written communication styles.
