Job description
We are looking for reliable and hardworking boat lift installer / marine construction service and repair technician to join our fastgrowing team. Successful candidates will be responsible for planning installing and maintaining boat lifts; inspecting maintaining and repairing seawalls docks and related components/accessories. This position requires boat lift installation experience strong knowledge of marine construction requirements and troubleshooting techniques.
This role will act as our primary boat lift installer and service department contact for The Dock Experts store front. Technicians own and complete daily diagnostic service repair requests from start to finish on all boat lift dock and seawall installations conducted through our Store Front conduct maintenance contract reviews and write up work orders to ensure all products and installation are up to The Dock Experts standards. The role is very hands on with customers needs outside of new construction.
The ideal candidate should have prior experience in boat lift & dock service diagnostics troubleshooting & repair a strong work ethic the ability to operate in a fastpaced environment independently without a great deal of supervision be a mechanically inclined be resultsoriented with troubleshooting skills driven by the handson aspect of being in the field and meeting with customers daily.
Core Responsibilities:
- Install boat lifts sold through our storefront
- Consult with Dock Experts Store front customers and provide appropriate installation instructions draft schematics and diagrams supporting seawall dock and boat lift parts and accessories
- Conduct inspections perform diagnostics and resolve various common to complex maintenance scenarios while ensuring compliance with state local and safety regulations
- Proactively anticipate and provide technical advice and sales/routine service/maintenance contract solutions on constantly evolving customer needs as they pertain to their marine lifestyle
- Understand and educate customers on process phases in boat lift dock and seawall installation lifecycle
- Create track and formalize work order documents to be tracked on The Dock Experts Storefront CRM
- Understand and guide customers through the parts exchange process
- Identify develop and maintain positive sales and customer service relationships with customers to promote growth
- Maintain a standard of excellence quality and timeliness in everything you do aligned to The Dock Experts values and expectations
- Maintain a brisk productive work pace to ensure completion of all assigned tasks and projects within identified timelines
- Comply with health and safety regulations when operating equipment or walking on the job site even when not on active duty
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
- Prior boat lift installation experience
- Active drivers licensing
- Personal vehicle
- Basic tools (square tape measure hammer drill etc.)
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting
- Multitasking and problemsolving skills
- Basic computer skills including typing MS Word MS Excel and MS Outlook
- Compliance with our Drug Free Workplace Program
- Good English oral comprehension skills to follow verbal instructions and respond to questions about job tasks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strongly preferred: 2 years of prior boat lift and dock installation service diagnostics troubleshooting & repair
- General knowledge of construction operations and procedures
- Strong customer service skills professional demeanor and always "safetyfirst" approach
- Familiarity with hand tools such as power drills hammers and saws
- Multilingual
