Effective presentation skills are vital in this role, as well as the ability to ensure standards and goals are met in each timeframe. Therefore, planning, and problem-solving skills are both essential for success in this position. The ideal candidate will also act with our students in mind and establish and maintain effective relationships with students to gain their trust and respect.

As an  Auto instructor , you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the minds and skills of our students. Your expertise in auto engines, diagnostics, electrical, and repair will be the guiding light that leads them to a promising career in many different industries. Flexible Schedule AM or PM (Monday - Friday) 

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma/GED & 3 years hands on technician experience in last 10 years;
  OR  Certificate & 4 years hands on technician experience in last 10 years;
  OR  Associates/bachelor’s & 3 years hands on technician experience in last 10 year
• ASEs are highly valued and preferred.
• Need current automotive or diesel hands on experience working and turning wrenches.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to teach students of various ages and diverse backgrounds.
• Able to work productively and communicate effectively with students and new employees.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be able to deal responsibly with confidential information.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word and Excel required)
• Must be personable, energetic and have a customer service orientation.
• Must be self-motivated.
• Must be able to work alone or with a team.

  Performance Standards

• Instructors will be evaluated on their ability to promote and implement the objective of the school.
• Assure that the curriculum is adhered to and delivered with motivation and enthusiasm.
• Proper monitoring of all equipment supplies and tools to ensure the safety of the students.
• Ensure that student morale is maintained at a high level.
• Maintain control of the classroom and handle student day to day issues
• Maintain a good standing on student and lab equipment evaluations.
• All internal and external reports and forms have been accurately completed and submitted in a timely fashion.
• Maintain an annual average of 95% student retention.
• Instructor evaluations will be done twice a year by management.
• Instructors’ evaluations will be done by students every quarter

Working Conditions

• Majority of time spent in education environment.
• Work will consist of an 8-hour day, 75% teaching and 25% administration.
• Appropriate safety measures must be followed.
• Exposure to chemicals that are standard to the industry.
