Job description
Commercial General Contractor / Millwork
Job Title: Estimator/Project Manager-Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of the estimate
-Prepare estimates by calculating the complete takeoff of scope of work
-Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimating figures, including accurate information on prices from suppliers
-Identify and find ways to mitigate project risks
-Communicate with vendors in support of quotations
-May review design options and recommend best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials
-Assist project managers with handoffs of awarded projects and preconstruction coordination
-Work with General Manager and Production Manager on production schedules
- 3+ years of Estimating experience
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Calculate costs and prepare estimates for commercial cabinet projects
-Effective time management and logical decision-making ability
-Capacity to handle pressure and oversee multiple projects
-Ability to work independently; Self-starter with a hands-on approach
