Job Title: Civil Engineer - Energy Projects Lead

 

Location: Peoria, Rockford, or Chicago areas, Illinois

Position Summary:

 

We're seeking a passionate and driven individual to take on the role of Civil Engineer specializing in energy projects. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage projects focusing on solar, wind, utility transmission, and emerging energy technologies. This position offers the chance to excel as a project manager and technical lead, making a significant impact in the renewable energy sector.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support energy projects from conception to completion.

- Demonstrate expertise in renewable energy design principles and practices.

- Provide exceptional client service and maintain high standards of technical excellence.

- Lead project teams, providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff.

- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables effectively.

 

Education/Experience Required:

 

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study.

- 5+ years of experience in the Architecture & Engineering (A&E) industry.

- PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.

- Drive and enthusiasm for energy development and design.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).

 

Education/Experience Preferred:

 

- Experience managing design teams.

- Familiarity with local and state permitting processes.

- Business development acumen in the energy and renewables sectors.

- Expertise in construction plan set production.

- Exposure to MicroStation.

- Knowledge of PVCase or other utility-scale PV software is a plus.
