The Senior Software Engineer strives to improve the user experience by implementing and/or enhancing applications of high complexity/enterprise wide cross functional program or project.  They perform application build and configuration management functions or work directly with Software Development Engineers by writing technical specification documents for development, perform testing, and/or perform configuration management for the implementation, enhance or upgrades solutions on remise or in a cloud hosted environment.

The Senior Software Engineer acts as a subject matter expert in design, configuration and building on multiple projects, engaged in enterprise wide projects.  The Senior Software Engineer leads efforts on documentation that describe process and procedures relating to the solution and transition operational support to Technical Analysts.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Design and develop secure and scalable software applications using best practices and industry standards.

- Implement and maintain DevSecOps practices, ensuring that security is integrated throughout the software development lifecycle.

- Utilize APM (Application Performance Management) tools to monitor and optimize the performance of our software applications.

- Employ Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and ensure consistent deployment across different environments.

- Implement and maintain robust CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.

- Manage API gateways and design API management strategies to enable seamless integration and data exchange between different systems.

- Leverage cloud services (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) to build and deploy scalable and reliable software solutions.

- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and evaluate their potential applicability to our software development processes.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

- Proven experience as a software engineer, with a focus on designing and developing complex applications.

- Strong proficiency in DevSecOps practices, including security best practices and automation tools.

- Experience with APM tools, such as New Relic, Datadog, or Splunk, to monitor and optimize application performance.

- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform for managing cloud resources.

- Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.

- Solid understanding of API management concepts and experience with API gateway solutions (e.g., Apigee, Mulesoft, AWS API Gateway).

- Familiarity with cloud services platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and hands-on experience deploying applications on these platforms.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
