Interim Safety & Workers’ Compensation Administrator

JOB SUMMARY: The Interim Safety & Workers’ Compensation Administrator will oversee our Workers’ Compensation, Liability and Safety Programs. Additionally, they will implement and continuously improve on safety, risk management and compliance strategies for new and existing locations throughout Think Together’s operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪ Promote and update all company safety programs to include but not limited to: Illness & Injury Prevention Program, workplace safety, emergency preparedness and employee safety.
▪ Serve as the main point of contact on a day-to-day basis as it relates to submittal/strategy of workers compensation cases to ensure claims are aggressively managed by the insurance adjusters/carrier/MPN to mitigate cost, all while ensuring the best care for employees.
▪ Compile reports, review, analyze and interpret data from employee injuries, worker’s compensation claims, incident reports and other sources regarding injuries, illnesses, and property damage to identify injury causes, trends, training needs, and program updates.
▪ Establish and maintain a caring, compassionate and professional working relationship with the injured employee, managers, and human capital to support their recovery for a successful Return to Work.
▪ Ensure that all injured employees receive appropriate company communications regarding their status and claim updates.
▪ Conduct incident investigations and post-accident interviews with management and injured Team Members as needed to determine root causes and corrective actions. Coordinate the correction of hazardous conditions and practices.
▪ Actively participate in claims reviews with carrier/broker, settlement discussions, attend depositions, court hearings, mediations, file reviews and any other claim related activities as needed.
▪ Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local safety, occupational health and environmental regulations.
▪ Ensures organization compliance with state specific Workers Compensation regulations for all states the business operates in.
▪ Partner with brokers, loss control consultants, OSHA consultants, ADA consultants and various other vendors to ensure compliance at all levels of the business.
▪ Strategize with Program & Operations on how to instill a realistic and relevant “culture of safety” throughout the organization.
▪ Develop and update training programs and content of training materials to ensure relevance.
▪ Serve as Chair of the Safety Committee and promote safety initiatives and safe work practices deepening a culture of safety.
▪ Facilitate on-site safety inspections and audits with a critical eye toward hazard identification, injury prevention, and OSHA compliance.
▪ Participate in various meetings periodically to share up-to-date information, corrective actions needed for improvements, trend reporting, results, and reinforce safety philosophy and culture.
▪ Educate/train staff and employees as to the risk management program, and their respective responsibilities in carrying out the risk management program.
▪ Lead, facilitate, and advise departments in designing risk management programs within their own departments.
▪ Collaborate with Human resources and/or Legal Team on any LOA or RTW to ensure full compliance when an injured employee is unable to return to work.
▪ Gather appropriate data and documents for annual policy insurance renewal.
▪ Maintain organization’s OSHA records.
▪ Other work-related duties and assignments as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Successful candidate will be a service-oriented individual with high personal standards and a hands-on work style. This position requires an individual who is very comfortable working at a varying pace, managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, adjusting priorities often, managing frequent interruptions, mentoring, and leading efficiently and effectively, speaking in front of audiences with a level of comfort and professionalism, and able to work under minimal supervision or in team environments.

This position interacts with Think Together employees at every level of the organization. The Safety & Workers’ Compensation Administrator must be approachable and able to work effectively with diverse personalities. In addition, the following is required:
▪ Successful work history to include at least 3 years’ experience in Workers’ Compensation and Safety.
▪ Knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and guidelines ▪ Certification preferred (WCCA, WCS, WCCP) ▪ Bachelor’s degree preferred.

OTHER SKILLS:
▪ Keen skills in organizing resources, time, and establishing priorities.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
▪ Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) with the ability to operate standard office equipment is required.

▪ Salary: $93,500.16/yr
