Job description
We seek a Data Entry Clerk to input information from paper documents and between internal databases. The ideal candidate will be computer-savvy, customer-centric, a self-starter, and a fast typist with a keen eye for detail. Understanding data confidentiality principles is essential. The company will rely on you for accurate and updated data easily accessible through a digital database.
Job Responsibilities: - Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners
- Type in data provided directly from customers
- Verify data by comparing it to source documents
- Update existing data
- Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested for the submission of online applications
- Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
- Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
- Gather required information and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and comply with company policy
- Prepare the loan application promptly so that the team may provide disclosures within the required time period
- Order services when necessary
- Prepare file for submission to the underwriter
- Prepare loan documents and coordinate closing
- Meet crucial loan deadlines
- Evaluate deficiencies and notify customer, loan officer, and referral source of critical issue
- Assist other department personnel where needed and best utilized to ensure the success of the team
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Education & Training: - High School Diploma
- College Degree (preferred)
- One year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience that meets the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge & Skillset : - Basic knowledge of loan terminology
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Practical written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and environment
- Professional attitude and behavior
- Ability to work independently and problem- solve
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Knowledge of office equipment (copiers, scanners, fax machines)
- Reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic
- Dependable and dedicated to the success of the team
Working Environment: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times
8 hours/day shift
