DebtBlue is seeking a Creditor Relations Specialist to play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing relationships with creditors, collection agencies, and legal representatives. This position is essential for negotiating favorable settlement terms on behalf of our clients, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and maintaining the company's reputation for fairness and effectiveness. Hours: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday during our core hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Pay: $65,000 - $85,000
Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with creditors, collection agencies, and attorneys to negotiate debt settlements on behalf of clients.
- Analyze client accounts and financial situations to propose settlement offers that are beneficial to both the client and the creditor.
- Stay informed of changes in laws and regulations affecting debt settlement and creditor relations, ensuring all negotiations comply with federal and state laws.
- Collaborate with the client services team to align settlement strategies with clients' financial situations and goals.
- Monitor and report on settlement activities, successes, and areas for improvement, contributing to the company's strategy and policy development.
- Handle creditor inquiries and disputes, providing timely and accurate information to resolve concerns and maintain positive relationships.
- Participate in industry conferences and workshops to represent the company and stay updated on trends and best practices in creditor relations and debt settlement.
Desired Skills and Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in creditor relations, debt settlement, or a closely related field.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of successfully negotiating debt settlements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment of the debt settlement industry.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical conduct.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and apply policies, procedures and guidelines to a variety of situations
- Strong math skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint and client service software, database and tools
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

Physical Requirements:
- Some travel will be required.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
