Job Description:
This position provides
effective administrative support of the Office of Student Accessibility Services. Responsibilities include coordination of day-to-day
operations, mainly interacting with students, their parents, faculty and professional staff colleagues. The SAS Office Coordinator is
primarily responsible for working with ITS to ensure that the Accommodate database is up to date and student accommodation memos are sent in
a timely fashion. Proctoring student testing and processing student leaves of absence, along with coordinating return from leave meetings
round out the responsibilities of this position.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate the day to day operation of the SAS
office to ensure that tasks are completed accurately and on time. This work includes greeting students and visitors, as well as responding
to email and phone inquiries from students, parents, faculty, administration and prospective students.
- Assist the Director and
Assistant Director of Student Accessibility Services. This work includes maintaining and updating databases for Student Accessibility
Service students, creating accommodation letters, sending reminders about important semester deadlines and responding to inquiries about
services offered. Must schedule student meetings and appointments. Responsible for reading and responding to emails through the [email protected] l address.
- Coordinate with students and faculty to
arrange for exam accommodations and proctoring. Provide proctoring for students using the SAS testing room for tests during the academic
year as well as mid-terms and final exams.
- Process short-term and long-term leaves of absences and withdrawals from the college.
Send all relevant correspondence and organize the Readmission Committee meetings each semester.
- Hire and supervise student
note takers, which includes completing Student Employment Action Forms when necessary, recruiting student note takers, confirming that they
are submitting timely notes and ensuring they are paid for their notes at the conclusion of each semester.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and
training.
- At least 1 year of administrative or clerical experience in a busy office.
- Experience with Accommodate (or
other disability services) software program.
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive,
Gmail)
- Ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and
staff, and other constituencies is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 or more years of clerical or
administrative experience
Additional Information:
Offers of employment are contingent upon the
