Skydance is seeking an experienced Manager, Physical Production on our Feature Film team. As the Manager, Physical Production, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the physical aspects of film production, ensuring seamless execution from pre-production to post-production. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the logistical and operational challenges inherent in film production and possess the ability to navigate complex projects with efficiency and precision.
Responsibilities: - 1. Project Oversight:
- Lead and manage the physical production process for film projects, ensuring alignment with creative goals and budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate closely with producers, directors, and department heads to plan and execute all physical production elements.
- Work closely with Finance, Legal, Business Affairs, Clearances, Insurance, Credits, Product Placement.
- Ensure delivery of various documents required by our distributor.
- 2. Logistical Planning:
- Set up productions for filming.
- Develop and implement detailed production plans, including shooting schedules, location scouting, and resource allocation.
- Anticipate and proactively address potential logistical challenges, ensuring a smooth production workflow.
- Oversee physical asset archival.
- Remotely oversee wrapping out of warehouses of productions in various locations.
- 3. Budget Management:
- Work closely with the finance department to create and manage production budgets, ensuring responsible resource allocation and cost control.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising creative integrity.
- 4. Team Leadership:
- Lead and inspire a team of physical production professionals, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
- Provide guidance and support to department heads and production crews.
- Set up Anti-harassment training and Foreign Corruption training.
- 5. Quality Control:
- Oversee the implementation of high-quality production standards throughout all phases of physical production.
- Collaborate with post-production teams to ensure a seamless transition from shooting to editing.
- Archival and delivery of past shows
- 6. Vendor and Location Relations:
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, location managers, and other external partners.
- Set up and register domestic productions with the Department of Transportation, ensure compliance with relevant laws and manage all required files.
- Oversee Sustainability, HR Trainings, Technology and Software, Clearances, Research, Vendors etc.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure resources and locations for production.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Production, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in feature film production, including 1+ years managing multiple projects at a studio or production company
- Proven experience in physical production management for film, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Labor relations and Union mediation experience
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
The salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $75,000 – $80,000. The salary offered may vary based on the candidate’s location, qualifications, experience and relevant expertise, among other factors. The range indicated is for base salary only and does not reflect the total compensation package, including bonus, benefits, etc.
