About the Position:
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment where value is placed on the development of foundational skills in a variety of subjects within a larger context of school mission and integrative thinking. Primary responsibilities include teaching a range of core elementary subjects (e.g., Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies), serving as the homeroom teacher, and collaborating on school-wide programming as necessary and appropriate.
The qualified candidate must be skilled in creating a nurturing, engaging classroom environment that fosters learning and curiosity across all subjects. The elementary curriculum at Advent is designed to give students a firm foundation in essential academic skills, as well as teach them the necessary strategies for inquiry-based learning, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Additionally, students should be encouraged to explore their interests and learn to express their ideas effectively. Teachers are expected to utilize planning time and additional time, as needed, to ensure they have crafted lessons that meet the diverse needs of their students.

Responsibilities:

Skills and Experience Required
- B.A. in Education, or a related field required.
- Teaching certification for Elementary Education.
- Several years of teaching experience, ideally at the elementary level, is preferred.
- The ideal candidate will be:

- Knowledgeable about young learners' intellectual, social, and emotional development,
- A professional oral and written communicator,
- Eager to work collaboratively with colleagues on curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessments.
