Job Summary



The Mortuary Science section in the Health Regulation Division regulates and enforces Minnesota Statute 149A regarding mortuary establishments.

This position will evaluate Minnesota mortuary establishments for compliance with health and safety standards. Responsibilities will include:

This position spends 50% of work time onsite at establishments located throughout Minnesota. When not onsite, remaining follow-up work is performed by teleworking from your home office. This position is available to applicants who reside in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota or South Dakota and final position location will be determined by the top candidate.

The majority of work hours are between 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. Candidates must be available for occasional overnight travel and flexibility to work beyond 4:30pm; the need for overnight travel will be determined by workload.

Reimbursement for authorized business travel expenses is provided according to bargaining unit guidelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Currently licensed as a Mortician in the State of Minnesota

AND

Two (2) years of experience working with mortuary services such as funeral homes, crematoriums, or alkaline hydrolysis establishments.

This position requires successful completion of a reference and background check.

This employment does not require a valid drivers license, but it does demand travel, which the candidate will be responsible for meeting.
