the job:
the Demand Planner will be responsible for optimizing our supply chain by providing demand forecasting, analytical reporting, and strategic insights. This position acts as a liaison among the different departments: Supply, Sales, Logistics, Marketing and E-commerce; gathering information to make accurate projections of sales.
salary: $80,000 - $90,000
location: remote. must be based in the US.
what you'll do:
- Maintain accurate rolling 12-18 month demand forecast by SKU and account levels, while minimizing forecast variability to reduce shortages/excess inventory and improve working capital
- Work with Plantensive partners to continuously monitor and refine forecasting models to enhance forecast accuracy, reduce errors, and adjust plans as needed
- Conduct comprehensive analyses and participate in meetings to present and facilitate discussions on S&OP Customer Demand Review reforecasts
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales and Marketing to gather insights and align demand forecasts with business strategies.
- Develop knowledge of customer marketing/sales/ business plans to validate forecast and accurately reflect business plan alignment
- Support the introduction of new products by validating demand forecasts and ensuring seamless integration into the supply chain.
- Manage sku numbers changes and exit/phase out strategies along with brand team
- Communicate assortment and planning opportunities to leadership
- Identify fast and slow sellers and develop action plans with team
must haves:
- Minimum of 2-3 years retail demand planning experience (with an emphasis on either planning, buying or allocation)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent retail math and analytical skills
- Ability to partner effectively across organizational boundaries; highly collaborative
- Ability to drive results through strong attention to detail and accurate and effective communication
- Excellent Excel skills, ability to use excel to analyze large volumes of data
- Ability to provide, explain, and discuss information related to inventory management
- Excellent prioritization, process optimization, and problem-solving capabilities; highly curious
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and disciplined to check work
