The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of California, Davis invites applications for one Junior Specialist in biochemistry and structural biology to join the lab of Dr. Jennifer Cash.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Research (85%): This position will entail carrying-out protein production and purification and performing biochemical, biophysical, and cell-based assays and experiments to understand RhoGEF signaling and regulation. The candidate will summarize data, prepare figures, and have the opportunity to assist in writing manuscripts for publication and grant proposals. The candidate also will be responsible for ordering lab supplies, maintaining equipment, overseeing lab safety, developing protocols, making lab stocks, and maintaining cell culture lines (bacterial, insect, and mammalian) as well as other lab management duties.
University and Public Service (15%): The candidate will present their research in weekly laboratory meetings. The candidate will also mentor incoming lab personnel.
SALARY RANGE: A reasonable estimate for this position is $51,300 at Step 1 (@ 100%) or $54,600 at Step 2 (@ 100%)

TERM OF APPOINTMENT: Short-term, one- to two-year appointment based on the needs of the lab. Appointments may be made up to 100%.
