The ideal Group Sales Manager candidate is experienced in booking group business in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas. In addition, the Group Sales Manager should have a vibrant, positive, energetic, team-oriented attitude with a focus on meeting sales goals and exceeding guest expectations.

Responsibilities
- Accountable for achieving established sales goals as outlined by the Director of Sales. Responsible for weekly activity reports showing progress towards sales goals.
- Solicit, negotiate and generate contracted revenues from prospects that meet criteria established in the hotel business plan
- Prospect for new contract business using a wide variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, attending community functions, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, trade journals, etc.
- Negotiate and execute group contracts with clients within guidelines provided by the Director of Sales.
- Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, site visits, etc.
- Develops relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for group/catering sales opportunities.
- Provides excellent customer service in order to grow share of the account.
- Executes exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before, during and after event.
- Promptly follows up on all customer needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner.
- Represents themselves and the hotel with the highest level of integrity and professionalism, a service-focused approach, and a caring, sincere attitude at all times.
- Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintains open communication with all coworkers for the best overall performance of the hotel.
- Displays a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times.
- Internally communicate guest requirements, thereby insuring all information is accurate between guest and hotel staff
- Coordinate and participate in target market trade shows, sales blitzes, networking opportunities, professional organizations
- Assists in the preparation of the weekly packet which includes group resumes, pick up reports, function agenda/banquet & catering details.
- Data entry using Delphi, Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Conduct site inspections with potential clients, visiting guest rooms, meeting space and banquet facilities, as well as other hotel facilities.
- Assist the Director of Sales with weekly reports on sales contacts
- Other duties as requested or assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years Hotel Sales experience required in order to be considered.
- Knowledge of local group and business accounts preferred
- Prior Delphi experience preferred
- Attention to detail and organized
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
