Your New Job Job Summary: The Business Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the financial, accounting, and business operations of a large program/project are achieving operational business, financial, and accounting excellence. This role requires a financial leader who can function as an individual contributor with the ability to manage a small team depending on the size of the project. This position will provide a great opportunity to learn and grow within our large program business unit. This position will also require you to collaborate and partner with our Construction & Engineering team on site & home office Corporate Accounting, Finance, & Leadership teams.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to): - Program Planning & Analysis.
- Collaborate with Program Leadership team to align business strategies with project goals, contractual business requirements, and Client expectations.
- Drive and align accurate financial visibility to the Program Team and Corp home office.
- Financial Management & Governance:
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting for turnkey fiber construction and engineering projects.
- Monitor project financial performance, identify areas for cost optimization, and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
- Ensure all Corporate financial and accounting policies are followed and identify and mitigate noncompliance.
- Project / Program Accounting
- Expense management ensure all accruals and payables are properly accounted for, billed, coded, and paid accurately and timely.
- Ensure Revenue Recognition is properly, accurately, and timely claimed and stated.
- Ensure Customer payments are timely received and recorded. Initiate collection strategy with Ops and legal when payments are past due.
- WIP management validate monthly WIP calculations based on Operational data and accounting methods utilized. Focus on minimizing WIP balances and cash conversion.
- Ops Billing ensure all customer invoices and applications for payment are promptly and accurately submitted. Validate Ops billing process, amounts, and documentation aligns with contractual terms.
- Ensure all Congruex financial and accounting procedures, systems, and policies are accurately and timely followed and implemented.
- Procurement
- Understands and ensures all procurement and purchasing needs are properly communicated and obtained through either in-region or corporate procurement functions.
- Ensure all procurement commitments are properly and accurately coded, valued, accepted, and accrued or paid.
- Business Manager & Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all business and office management functions of the program are in place & operating efficiently
- Ensure insurance claims are properly submitted by the project team.
- Ensure all contracts, subcontracts, & change orders are properly documented, executed, and stored in Corp systems
- Assist, calculate risk, and provide visibility for Customer or Subcontractor disputes.
Required Skills & Qualifications: General - Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business administration or equivalent
- Fiber and/or Construction, Engineering, & project experience is preferred, but not required.
- Strong Accounting, Business, & Financial acumen and experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to read and reasonably understand business requirements in Contracts
Technical - Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Excel basic functions & pivot tables/VLOOKUPs
- Experience in ERPs is preferred but not required (D365, Site Tracker or equivalent)
- Proficient in Power BI a plus
