You have at least 15 years of experience in a Security Operations role with at least 6 years in Trade Processing or Settlement’s lead role supporting Equity and Fixed Income. You additionally have in-depth experience with Securities products and Global Markets. This is the team for you.

As an Operations Director - Broker Dealer Fixed Income in Operations Management at JPMorgan Chase, you will manage Fixed Income Settlement for North America, Latin America and Canadian market. This includes managing the end to end Settlement lifecycle from instruction, matching, depot management, reconciliation, settlement and claims management. You will be responsible for supervising a team size of 50 members across Newark, Jersey City, Buenos Aires & Bournemouth, and manage recruitment, performance, and development. 

Additionally, you will drive strategic direction to develop and evolve the Operational model plus drive transaction across our platforms and work closely with various teams across Operations, Business units and Agent banks to ensure settlement effectiveness while maintaining regulatory risk for the firm & clients. Daily/Weekly monitoring of key metrics and providing updates to senior management and operations group is also required.

 

Job Responsibilities

• Manage Fixed Income Settlement for North America, Latin America and Canadian market, managing the end to end Settlement lifecycle from instruction, matching, depot management, reconciliation, settlement and claims management 
• Responsible for supervising a team size of 50 members across Newark, Jersey City, Buenos Aires & Bournemouth, manage recruitment, performance, and development
• Drive strategic direction to develop and evolve the Operational model plus drive transaction across our platforms 
• Work closely with various teams across Operations, Business units & Agent banks to ensure settlement effectiveness while maintaining regulatory risk for the firm & clients
• Monitor daily/weekly key metrics and provide updates to senior management and Operations group
• Utilize Key Risk Indicators and Key Performance Indicators to identify areas of opportunity & initiate change
• Oversee implementation of Depot Management and Pair-Off utility in Bournemouth to service global settlements function and drive settlement efficiency
• Set service standards, monitor actual performance, and review benchmarks to ensure best in class delivery
• Recognize possibility for greater process and reporting efficiencies and make recommendations for improvements
• Understand the changing group/regulatory requirements and conduct assessment/ monitoring on operations to ensure in compliance with the standards
• Identify any risks or gaps in processes and work with management and the team to implement a better process

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills 

• 15 years of experience in Security operations role with at least 6 plus years in Trade processing or Settlement’s lead role supporting for Equity and Fixed Income. Exposure to Asset Servicing practices will be an added advantage.
• Strong control mindset and adherence to a high degree of business ethics
• In-depth experience with Securities products and global markets
• Ability to manage a team of high achievers with diverse experience and skill sets and successful in team environments with matrix reporting structures
• Must be a motivated individual with strong Partnership abilities 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and adept at communicating with all levels of the business
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail, and an ability to know when a deep-dive approach is appropriate

 

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Working knowledge of Euroclear and Depository Transfer Check (DTC) settlement practices preferred
• Ability to think and act strategically
