RESPONSIBILITIES
Characterize samples using Gas Chromatography, Gas Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, CHNS, TGA, UV and NMR Perform wet chemistry tests
Perform solvency effectiveness testing on foulant materials and tear apart studies
Interface with internal customers on daily basis
Operate and maintain laboratory units, analytical testing equipment and troubleshoot as needed
Prepare and test samples by following detailed ASTM methods to provide high quality data Calculate, analyze and interpret data
Efficiently manage work request backlog and turnaround time
Participate in knowledge builds
Perform methods development work as needed
Solve analytical problems and leads efforts to introduce new technologies to support the business
Perform internal calibrations and monitor SQC charts for quality compliance
Manage sample inventory, handling, shipping, storage and disposal
Order chemicals and supplies
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor s degree preferably Master s degree in a Chemistry or Chemical Engineering discipline. Will consider experience in lieu of degree.
Capable of safe, reliable and independent laboratory work
Ability to learn new techniques as needed
Strong problem solving skills
Devotion to accuracy and precision
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
Strong working knowledge of Excel
Excellent communications written/oral and interpersonal skills
