Job description

Do you have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related human service field ? Are you passionate about working with children and families? We are looking to hire a full time Foster Care Workers for our Lansing / Jackson office location. In this role you will help parents learn and apply skills that will help them grow in their relationships with their kids. Consider an interview with our Foster Care Supervisor to discuss this rewarding role, with travel between our Lansing and Jackson locations.

Job Summary

 

Provides social work and case management services for assigned cases, in accordance with all applicable contractual and regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Assume primary responsibility for all cases on assigned caseload. Provide a range of case management, including social casework, engagement, mentoring, and community referral.
  2. Collect, assess and document appropriate data and client progress. Assume responsibility for and complete documentation, reports, statistics, and assignments within required time frames and as required.
  3. Work collaboratively with referral sources, agencies, institutions and individuals who have pertinent roles in client’s life situation.
  4. Prepare for and attend all scheduled court hearings on assigned caseload.
  5. Take primary responsibility for intake and initial placement services for all newly referred cases.
  6. Coordinate placement arrangements with caregivers, including transportation of children as needed.
  7. Provide more intensive supportive casework services to child, birth family, and caregiver during initial placement and replacement.
