Job Summary:  

Under the general supervision of the Director of Consumer & Real Estate Lending, the Loan Servicing Portfolio Specialist prepares and assists with generating loan types to include commercial, real estate and consumer loans. This position prepares all necessary loan documents, processes all loan commitments, department correspondence and provides general clerical and loan processing support, in addition to the preparation and processing of all collateral documents and providing assistance and support to the collections department. 

Duties / Responsibilities:  

Service commercial and real estate loans with full understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements;

Ensure fast turnaround for internal lending team and members and proactivity in the preparation of documents, regulatory requirements and internal control management;

Prepare, produce and process required forms and legal documents for all loan types; Facilitate appraisals and title searches, as necessary; review appraisals for real estate, mobile home and business loans;

Process loan closing documents on a daily basis;

Order and review flood determinations;

Order and review UCC searches, amendments, filings and terminations; file UCC continuations, as needed;

Collect, Review and coordinate with lender/title company, any subordination requests received; review all preliminary title reports; review and request corrections on all final title policies involving recorded real estate collateral;

Review and track real estate, mobile home and business loans for HMDA compliance; track fees (collected, paid out, pre-collected, prepaid and at funding); collate, verify, correct and submit annual HMDA-LAR to regulatory agencies;

Coordinate with loan officer/underwriter/member to obtain missing items to document;

Coordinate with loan officer/underwriter/member/escrow and title companies to obtain missing items for funding; follow up on post funding collateral items (title policies, mobile home title, vehicle title, share secured, UCC filings etc.) to ensure final documents are in the permanent file;

Ensure maintenance and management of loan accounts, review and research collateral, payment or any other requests from coworkers, management and members on open/closed loans, as requested;

Process and release collateral for paid-in-full / closed loans;

Manage commercial loan files, including assembling of loan files, including dividers and content lists for all business loans;

Review and process any release of funds, release of appraisal and HMDA status on adverse action (declined, withdrawn, etc.) real estate, mobile home and business loans;

Create forms, checklists and procedures for best practices/procedures in connection with the loan processes performed;

Write reports, ensure deadlines are met and assist with preparation of monthly loan production;

Review and request updated insurance on active/open real estate, mobile home and business loans; review and track delinquent property taxes, as necessary;

Order HELOC borrower personal checks;

Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:  

2 – 5 years of credit union lending experience in a similar role; related supervisory experience preferred;

Bilingual Spanish / English, a plus;

Previous sales experience required;

Thorough knowledge industry-related loan origination software;

Knowledge of lending principles, practices, rules, sales, regulations and compliance requirements;

Experience working with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations;

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products, 10-key calculator and standard office equipment;

Attend and/or participate in ongoing compliance training and other job-related training;

Ability to work effectively alone and within a team environment, in a fast-paced, diverse environment and perform efficiently under pressure;

Exemplary time management, organizational, attention to detail, multi-tasking, problem-solving, research, analytical, customer service and follow-through skills;

Exemplary oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Holder of valid CA driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable transportation;

Must be able to be bondable. 

Working Hours:

8:30AM – 5:30PM Monday through Friday 

Compensation:

$25.57 - $38.35 per hour DOE, for this this full-time non-exempt position.
