Job Description:


The ideal candidate for this role has 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience. Typically part of the solution development team, the lead is responsible for translating the requirements created by functional analysts into the architecture for that solution and describing it through the set of architecture and design artifacts. Those artifacts are then used by the rest of the development team to implement the solution. The process of defining architecture by the solution architect often involves selection of the most appropriate technology for the problem being solved.

Position Description / Requirements:

Mandatory Skills:

  • Must have Retails Domain Experience.- at least 2-3+ years of experience in retail domain
  • Must have 10+ years of IT Industry AS/400 experience..
  • Must have 7+ years of AS/400, with very strong experience in RPG/RPGLE, Cobol/400, SQLRPGLE, CL programming.
  • Must have 1-2 years' experience in XML Programming Skills.
  • Development experience in AS/400 environment with very strong XML Programming Experience by interfacing other systems in the landscape;
  • Experience developing on AS 400 environments
  • Experience in RPG/RPGLE, Cobol/400, SQLRPGLE, CL programming
  • Experience with XML programming is MUST.
  • Experience working in integrating AS/400 with webMethods (or any EAI tool), WM system, Yantra and JDA products with XML programming
  • Experience in development using PL/SQL
  • Experience with Oracle databases - SQL: queries, stored procedures
  • Strong conceptual understanding in the Retail Merchandising, assortment management and Supply Chain Management in Retail domain is desired.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting skills
  • Strong Communicator
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-changing, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge on JDA modules would be an added advantage
  • Strong consulting mindset, exceptional client interfacing skills. Is able to bring in knowledge of more than one process/technology domain & nice to have implementing multiple modules of JDA experience.
  • Prior JDA implementation experience in the Retail/Client domain would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge on estimation techniques
  • Preferred / Nice to have skills:
    • Multi-channel retail environment supported with JDA MMS/WM on AS400 platform. Complex and highly customized JDA MMS Applications and other JDA Modules.
    • Interface knowledge from MMS to WM and Yantra systems.
    • Order Management Process experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Business & Frontend UI Team closely and update on the project status periodically.
  • Liaise with business users/client managers/ specialists to understand the requirements / problem statements
  • Ability to perform solution design
  • Take decisions independently and interact directly with customers
  • Carrying out Development/upgrade/support tasks as assigned
  • Reviewing technical specs
  • Coordinating with the customer & offshore team to resolve queries or clarifications
  • Coordinating/conducting testing or release management activities
  • Provide support for estimations
  • Suggest and validate various solution options for the requirements
  • Provide technical leadership in the development / implementation project

Qualification:

  • An advanced degree (B.S. or B.E. Minimum, Masters preferred)
  • Experience developing objects on AS 400 environments
  • Experience with DB2 & Oracle databases - SQL: queries, stored procedures
  • Prior experience with configuration & development with JDA MMS is added advantage.
