Job description
Position: Traffic Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop innovative traffic engineering solutions that optimize safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze traffic patterns and provide recommendations for improvement
- Conduct comprehensive traffic impact studies and present findings to stakeholders
- Utilize cutting-edge technology to simulate traffic flow and optimize signalization plans
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance traffic engineering strategies
Essential Job Functions:
- Create and review sign-n-seal signalization plans, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards
- Perform traffic analyses to identify bottlenecks, congestion, and potential safety hazards
- Collaborate with city and state officials to obtain necessary permits for traffic engineering projects
- Conduct field inspections to assess the effectiveness of traffic control measures and propose adjustments if needed
- Provide technical expertise and support to clients regarding traffic engineering solutions
Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in designing and creating sign-n-seal signalization plans
- Proficient in traffic analysis software (e.g., VISSIM, Synchro, SIDRA, HCS)
- Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles and standards
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
