Job description
GENERATOR TECHNCIAN/MECHANIC
Objective: To adequately service, install and troubleshoot power service generator equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform engine services, load testing, ATS testing and repairs
- Diagnose engine & electrical component/attachment problems
- Recognize, diagnose & source replacement parts, install a complete package generator set & peripheral
equipment from material supplied
- Read & interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, use latest technology in diagnostics and repairs
- Troubleshoot diesel and gaseous fuel systems, perform both minor and major diesel and gaseous engine
repairs
- Perform generator load testing, repairs and complete system evaluations
- Advanced troubleshooting of generator loads, including harmonics & compatibility issues
- Understand thermal dynamics & pressures as they relate to cooling and heating systems
- Accurately evaluate parts reusability & perform repairs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
- Properly use diagnostic tooling & literature to troubleshoot machine systems & components
- Accountable for quality measurements
- Provide timely high-quality repairs as needed, provide completed service reports accurately and timely
- Safely operate heavy equipment, forklifts and mobile cranes according to OSHA regulations
- Must understand basic tool functions including safe & proper tool operations
- Share technical information with appropriate parties
- Other duties as assigned to meet business needs
Requirements:
- Journeyman or Apprentice a plus but not required.
- Technical school, automotive or transportation fields, commercial and/or residential electric and like military
experiences are preferred.
- Must show mechanical & electrical aptitude & show past experience in mechanical & electrical fields
- Demonstrate basic written & verbal communication skills and show competence in discussing abstract and
complicated problems with peers in the industry.
- Must show a desire & willingness to learn and use new technologies
- Desire and show ability to mentor and share knowledge with other technicians

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, bend and lift 85 lbs.
Pay: Based on experience - Entry level typically starts $16-$18, with 2-3 years on-the-job experience typically starts $20-$25
