Senior Front End Developer Location Hybrid remote in Chicago, IL : Are you a front-end developer looking to make the move to a forward thinking tech company? 1WorldSync is the industry leader in product content management. With approximately 700 employees across the US, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, and the UK, we're seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to support our growing global team.
Reporting directly to our Director of Engineering , the Senior Front-End Developer will work with our scrum teams to drive delivery of features that bring high performance, high usability and high stability within the context of our infrastructure, business practices, market pressures and planning cycles. We have a team-oriented culture, and you will find yourself working closely with other engineers of varying disciplines, product, data science as well as other parts of the organization. As a Senior Front End Developer at 1WorldSync, responsibilities include the following:
Take ownership of projects and collaborate with stakeholders to develop robust, multi-tiered web applications.
- Lead cross-team, department level, architecture and design sessions for new applications and features.
- Proactively identify improvements within our infrastructure, production operations, and codebase.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and UX teammates in an agile development environment.
- Lead the definition of a technical vision and platform integration plans.
- Partner with Product to incorporate technical vision into the product roadmap.
- Participate in client calls to aid the implementation and customer success teams
- Manage vendor relationships with technical partners that we leverage in our SaaS platform
- Promote high quality code with thoughtful design, unit testing, automated functional testing and peer review.
- Mentor other engineers in design principles, clean code practices, and test driven development
- Communicate technical decisions through design docs and tech talks.
Provide on-call support for mission-critical services.
Tech Stack:
- We use AWS with many of our applications written using open-source technologies. Our engineers also look to adopt modern technologies to solve our business challenges.
- Languages: Javascript, Elm, Kotlin, Java, Ruby, Elixir, and Python
- Frameworks: ReactJS, Remix, NextJS, Spring (Boot, MVC, Security, etc.), Rails
- Databases: PostgreSQL, Neo4J Graph Database, ElasticSearch, Snowflake
- AWS: Cloudfront, DynamoDB, RDS, Redshift, S3, ElastiCache/Redis, EMR, Lambda, SQS, SNS, ECS/Docker, Linux
Developer/DevOps tools: Terraform, CircleCI, Sumologic, Datadog, Maven, Gi
Required Skills and Experience: Must hold a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience developing and architecting JavaScript based web application
- 3+ year professional experience developing web applications using ReactJS (or similar frameworks)
- 1+ year experience with Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) e.g. AWS Cloudfront, Akamai, Fastly
- 1+ year experience with application state management solutions such as Redux, MobX
1+ year experience with a variety of testing strategies—unit, integration, end-to-end, visual regression and relevant tooling—mocha, Jest, Vitest, Cypress, Playwright
Desired Skills and Experience: Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a positive attitude
- Experience with Server-side rendering (SSR) React meta frameworks: Remix/NextJS
- Experience with serverless edge-computing solutions e.g AWS lambda, Cloudflare workers
- Experience with infrastructure as code frameworks e.g. Terraform

Additional Details: - This is a hybrid position that requires 3 days per week at our Chicago headquarters location
- This role requires the candidate to have the authority to work in, and be located in the US
- This position requires up to 5% travel
