Community Loan Fund Manager
Summary: We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking financial professional to lead the strategic management and expansion of the Home Energy Loan Program (HELP). This crucial role is poised to drive transformative social and environmental change by overseeing the growth, fundraising initiatives, meticulous investment management, and effective administration of loans and grants aimed at fostering resilient and healthy homes within our community. The Community Loan Fund Manager will provide visionary leadership, significantly contribute to our mission of addressing climate-related challenges, and champion economic justice while working closely with the organization's leadership and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the Home Energy Loan Program (HELP), in alignment with the organization's mission and vision, within the context of a not-for-profit organization.
Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to define strategic priorities and assess their implementation.
Play a pivotal role in fostering a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative environment, recruiting, developing, and effectively managing a dedicated team to support the funds expanding operations over time.
Capital Acquisition and Fundraising:
Devise and implement a diversified fundraising strategy, leveraging both debt and equity, and targeting non-accredited investors, accredited investors, and philanthropic entities.
Cultivate and nurture relationships with potential investors, donors, and community partners.
Prepare persuasive presentations and proposals to communicate the fund's mission, impact, and investment opportunities.
Investment Management:
Oversee the fund's financial operations, meticulously tracking donations, investments, returns, and other financial transactions.
Collaborate with financial experts to optimize investment strategies, ensure prudent risk management, and maximize returns.
Loan and Grant Administration:
Collaborate with external loan administration partners as needed.
Co-design streamlined processes for loan and grant applications, evaluations, disbursements, and repayment tracking.
Collaborate with legal and financial advisors to ensure regulatory compliance and responsible lending practices.
Manage interactions with borrowers, monitor repayment schedules, and address delinquent accounts.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships:
Forge strong relationships with the organization's Board of Directors, Project Finance Committee, community organizations, and local businesses.
Facilitate regular updates and communications to ensure alignment with fund activities and priorities.
Community Empowerment:
Lead efforts to actively engage community stakeholders, investors, and partners through events, meetings, and communication channels.
Gather feedback from community members to inform fund initiatives and ensure they address genuine community needs.
Impact Measurement and Reporting:
Develop a robust impact measurement framework to evaluate the social, environmental, and economic outcomes of fund initiatives.
Analyze data and prepare regular comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct financial analysis to assess new initiatives, including cost-benefit analysis and risk assessment.
Regulatory Compliance:
Collaborate with external legal and compliance advisors to ensure strict adherence to federal, state and local regulations governing community investment and financial operations.
Innovation and Learning:
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging opportunities, and best practices within impact investing, sustainable development, and community finance.
Continuously seek innovative approaches to enhance the fund's efficiency, effectiveness, and impact potential.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, economics, entrepreneurship or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience in fundraising and capital acquisition, particularly from diverse funding sources, including non-accredited investors, accredited investors, and philanthropic entities.
Familiarity with impact investing, community finance, and sustainable development principles.
Strong financial acumen and understanding of financial modeling, investment tracking, and reporting.
Experience in managing loans and grants, including application processes and compliance.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff toward shared goals.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Familiarity with relevant federal, state and local regulations pertaining to community investment and financial operations.
High level of integrity and commitment to ethical business practices.

Location, Schedule and Availability:
Mid-Hudson Energy Transition is located in Kingston, NY. The daily work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. The work can be performed on-site, hybrid, or remotely for exceptional candidates that do not live near our office.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, professional development opportunities, and unlimited paid time off.
