Position Overview:
Mission 94 Firearms Education Center is seeking a highly organized and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our reputable gun shop. The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the store operates efficiently, maintains compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and delivers exceptional customer service. As a key member of the management team, the Operations Manager will be responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting the overall success of the business.
Responsibilities:
Physical:
- Position may require bending and lifting.
Operational Leadership: - Provide effective leadership to the store staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment. Set clear performance expectations and provide guidance and support to team members.
Inventory Management: - Oversee the inventory control process, including receiving, stocking, and conducting regular audits. Maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory to maximize profits.
Compliance and Regulations: - Ensure strict adherence to all local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the sale and storage of firearms and ammunition. Implement and maintain compliance protocols and training for staff members.
Customer Service: - Champion a customer-focused culture, ensuring that all customers receive top-notch service. Address customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations in a professional and timely manner.
Sales, Marketing and Membership Support: - Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop strategies that drive sales and revenue growth. Monitor sales performance and implement initiatives to achieve sales targets.
Security and Safety: - Maintain a secure and safe environment for staff and customers. Implement security protocols, monitor surveillance systems, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Financial Management: - Assist in budget planning and control operational expenses to meet financial targets. Analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Training and Development: - Identify training needs for staff and conduct training sessions on product knowledge, safety protocols, and customer service skills.
Vendor and Supplier Management: - Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure timely product deliveries.
Continuous Improvement: - Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and streamline workflows.
Requirements: Experience: - Proven experience in retail operations management, preferably in a gun shop or firearms-related industry.
Knowledge: - Thorough understanding of firearms, ammunition, and related accessories. Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing firearms sales and storage.
Leadership Skills: - Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve business goals.
Communication: - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, staff, and vendors.
Organization: - Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Attention to Detail: - Meticulous attention to detail to ensure compliance and accuracy in inventory management and paperwork.
Problem-Solving: - Effective problem-solving skills to address operational challenges and resolve customer issues.
Computer Literacy: - Proficiency in using computer systems, point-of-sale software, and inventory management tools.

- Maintain the highest level of ethics and integrity when handling firearms and sensitive information.
