Job description
A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in the Bronx. In this role, the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) will be responsible for responsible for providing primary care to patients in foster care including histories, exams, lab tests, prescriptions, and referrals within prescribed up to date guidelines and protocols.
About the Opportunity: - Assignment Length: Ongoing (6+ months)
- Schedule: 3 to 4 days a week
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
- Setting: Article 29I Clinic (Foster Care)
- Patient Population: Birth to young adults (Ages 0 to 21)
- Patient Volume: 10 to 12 per day
Responsibilities: The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) will be responsible for:
- Medication management + diagnosis
- Performing accurate and timely documentation of histories, subjective findings, physical exam, plans, prescriptions
- Consulting the Supervising Physician or colleagues when needed for complicated or case is outside the scope of practice
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with administrative, fellow peers, and other work related outside agencies
- Ensuring smooth communication with other health professionals for effective delivering of clinic service to patients
- Providing consultation to the clinic's nursing and medical staff for improvement in their work performance
- Reporting to the "State Central Registry of Child Abuse & Neglect" all cases of suspected child abuse or neglect
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications: - Master's Degree
- NYS Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license
- Board Certification
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
