About us:
ESS Engineering is a highly experienced telecommunication engineering company that has been providing full service outside plant engineering and design services since 2005. Past major contracts consisted of projects with top 500 NYSE companies, such as AT&T, MCI Metro/Verizon, Florida Power and Light (FPL), and MASTEC.
ESS specializes in designing projects placing fiber cables, PFP cabinet enclosures, conduit, and associated infrastructure. Additional services consist of Building Industry Consultant (BIC) engineering, Pole Analysis engineering, and Permit procurements. Our major geographical areas of coverage are Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Sales/Business Development Manager to lead the expansion of our business in the wireline telecommunications market. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in securing contracts for engineering services, driving new business growth, and further enhancing our two-plus decades of experience with top providers in the industry.
Qualifications: - Attend local/national trade shows to represent the company's capabilities in the region.
- Possesses market research experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated track record of successful selling.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
- Excellent negotiating skills with a proven track record of closing deals and effective follow-up.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Knowledge of local providers and established relationships in the market.
- Background knowledge in project development, execution, and closeout.
- Familiarity with current network architectures and updated deployment methods.
- Assist in proposal creation.
- Proven history of successfully selling engineering services to telecommunications companies, particularly outside of the top 5 largest US telecom companies.
Responsibilities: - Report directly to the CEO.
- Seek out leads and build relationships with other businesses.
- Secure contracts for engineering services.
- Develop and execute a plan to identify and pursue sales leads and prospective clients.
- Collaborate with other departments to create a cost-effective marketing strategy for major sales opportunities.
- Forge and maintain strong relationships with local wireless providers.
- Scrutinize sales results, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs), and confer with the CEO as appropriate.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
- Build and maintain customer relationships for the region.
Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in engineering or business.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in wireless telecommunications infrastructure.
- 3+ years of relevant business development experience.
- Minimum of 3+ years selling engineering services to wireline telecom carriers.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong team management skills, with the ability to communicate KPI reports to internal team members and upper management.
- Ability to present KPI reports.
Results Expectations :
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase revenue and market share in the wireline telecom market and secure contracts.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of ESS Engineering’s solutions, product offerings, corporate strategy, business objectives, and vision.
- Define go-to-market priorities and targets for products and solutions, informed by market fit and revenue potential.
- Partner with Marketing to establish clear, compelling messaging and positioning for industry solutions.
- Develop a sales strategy, including yearly and quarterly sales targets.
- Attend key industry conferences.
