Job description
Are you an experienced Prior Authorization specialist located in Georgia looking for a remote position with a large health system? We are looking for a healthcare professional that has experience receiving referrals for GI procedures, processing prior authorizations, working with insurance companies for approvals, and ensuring all steps are documented in EPIC. This position pays between $16 - 22/ hour based upon experience. This position will be 100% remote however, candidates MUST be located in Georgia and is temp-to-hire position.

Responsibilities
- Gathering records in order to complete precertification for outpatient procedures
- Ensures all authorizations are requested with the appropriate CPT codes, diagnosis codes and/or
reasons for procedures (ICD-10) * Understanding of scheduling and updating patient insurance information.
- Working with insurance companies for approvals
- Knowledge of insurance carriers’ requirements for pre-authorization of surgeries and GI procedures
including the referrals for procedures * Verify the accuracy of data entered and correct any errors
- Assist with monthly reports as requested
- Keeps current with insurance requirements for pre-auth
- Working knowledge of assigned referral work queues
- Patient registration
- Answers incoming phone calls and follows through with requests made
- Prior Authorization for Surgical Procedures
