About Us: The Atwood Foundation is a distinguished private charitable foundation based in Anchorage, Alaska. Established in 1969 by Robert B. Atwood, a prominent Alaskan journalist and publisher, and his wife, Evangeline Atwood, our foundation has been at the heart of our community for over five decades. We are dedicated to advancing Anchorage, Alaska, by providing financial support to non-profit organizations in the fields of fine arts, journalism, military, and other civic enterprises.
The Role: As the Executive Director of the Atwood Foundation, you will lead the charge in our mission to make a lasting impact on our community. You will oversee day-to-day operations, collaborate closely with our board of directors, and drive philanthropy and grantmaking that truly matters. This is a unique opportunity to shape our future and contribute to Anchorage's growth.
Salary Range: $110,000-$120,000 + DOE Independent Contractor Relationship
Your Leadership Opportunity: - Operational Oversight: Ensure fiscal responsibility and streamline daily operations.
- Grant Management: Oversee grant evaluations, funding recommendations, and compliance.
- Community Engagement: Build essential partnerships and foster community connections.
- Communication Management: Uphold our brand, manage messaging, and engage with stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication is crucial.
- Board Governance: Align daily operations with our mission and values.
- Leadership: Guide our strategic direction and drive impactful outcomes.
- Collaborative: Work effectively with the board of directors and diverse stakeholders.
- Market Awareness: Stay informed about emerging opportunities and challenges.
- Partnership Building: Amplify our influence through strategic alliances.
- Organizational Skills: Manage logistical elements and operations effectively.
