The Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is the division within DHS that enhances the well-being of children by locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity and support orders; enforcing and modifying support obligations; and collecting and distributing child support payments. This program promotes parent accountability and self-sufficiency while reducing the public responsibility for providing financial and medical support to children. DCSS also administers several outreach programs including but not limited to Fatherhood, Prison Re-Entry, and Parental Accountability Court. All of these outreach initiatives are devoted to increasing non-custodial parental involvement in the child's life.
DCSS is seeking candidates for the position of Parental Accountability Court (PAC) Coordinator (Advocate 2). This position is based in Ellijay, GA, and will provide services in Gilmer, Pickens, and Fannin counties.

Under general supervision, provides personal support services and crisis intervention to clients. May serve as case managers and evaluate, investigate, and resolve complaints. Acts as a liaison between client and service providers.Role and Responsibilities:

An equivalent combination of education and job-specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience, and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience:Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science (criminal justice, psychology, sociology, etc.) or a business degree (management, public relations, hospitality, marketing, etc.) from an approved, accredited college or university AND two (2) years’ work experience within a government judicial system as a parole/probation officer, court counselor/advocate, officer of the court, etc. for low-risk offenders.
