Located in Baltimore's cultural center near the historic Mount Vernon neighborhood, UMMC Midtown Campus is a 180-bed, community teaching hospital with a focus on helping people manage chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary conditions, and infectious diseases.
Job Description
* Performs assessments and reassessments, as appropriate for the patient's needs, collecting data from all sources to assist with formulating a nursing diagnosis.
* Develops an individualized Plan of Care, based on the patient's assessment, with mutual, realistic and measurable goals and documents this thoroughly in the patient's record.
* Coordinates and directs available resources and personnel in developing and following the Plan of Care.
* Performs treatments, including medication administration, as ordered by the physician and carries out nursing interventions in accordance with the Plan of Care.
* Evaluates the patient's response to treatments/interventions through reassessment and revises the Plan of Care as necessary.
Qualifications
* Graduate from an approved Nursing School. Positive interpersonal/communication/supervisory skills. Computer skills necessary to document, review information, and send information.
* Currently licensed in the State of Maryland.
* ACLS Provider Completion within 1 year of employment in the following departments: ICU/IMC, PACU, Interventional Radiology, GI Lab, and ED.
* PALS Completion within 1 year of employment in the following departments: PACU and Emergency Department.
* BLS Provider Completion.
