Job description
The Direct Support Professional is responsible for the safety and supervision of our consumers with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Behavioral health histories to facilitate healthy and socially acceptable behaviors while living in community-based sites. This position will coordinate with clinical staff, implement residentially-based interventions and assist the clients in achieving their clinical assignments. The DSP is responsible for fulfilling the obligations as outlined in the client’s program plan. The DSP will prompt or assist, as necessary, to ensure the clients participate in daily living activities in both the home and the community. A commitment to the RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed.

Program Summary
RHD Genesis provides community-based living arrangements for individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities, with a focus on delivering specialized supports around individuals’ physical health care needs using a comprehensive wellness plan. Residents are encouraged to function as independently as possible by making decisions and choices regarding activities of daily living and community-integrated activities.

RHD employees and programs in the City of Philadelphia are required to follow the COVID vaccine mandate. Revised PDPH guidance allows for new hires to be partially vaccinated at the time of hire. This means they have received at least one shot in a two-dose series or a single dose in a one-dose series before beginning in-person shifts. The final dose must be received within 4 weeks of hire (start date). This currently does not include boosters
