Job Overview
The Transportation Coordinator for Outreach Communications is responsible for all primary communications functions within the Transportation Division including but not limited to oversight of Transportation Dispatch, managing the LCPS Transportation Concern Registry and acting as the community spokesperson for the Transportation Division. This position will work to ensure all parental and citizen concerns or complaints are reviewed and responded to in a timely manner. The Transportation Coordinator - Outreach Communications will also develop, manage, maintain and execute the Transportation Communication Plan, which includes but is not limited to managing the Transportation Division webpages (both Internet and Intranet), publishing the bi-monthly newsletter, and reviewing, editing, posting of the Pupil Transportation Handbook as well as any staff publications.
Roles and Responsibilities The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.
- Receives, reviews, and investigates all parental and citizen concerns or complaints and provides timely responses as well as resolves other transportation issues that arise.
- Manages the communication of all mass notification messaging to the community and Transportation staff for the Transportation Division.
- Assists with the design and production of supporting material including flyers, brochures, newsletters and web content to recruit bus drivers, bus attendants and other Transportation Division staff.
- Maintains the Transportation Division webpages (both Internet and Intranet) to include but are not limited posting open routes for bus drivers and bus attendants, the Pupil Transportation Handbook, frequently asked questions (FAQs), access to the Transportation Concern Registry and Transportation newsletter.
- Supervises the effective operation of the Transportation Division's Dispatch Office and the Area Supervisor (Dispatch).
- Supervises all staff members assigned to Outreach/Communications.
Qualifications Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.
Education Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public administration, journalism, or a related field
Experience Three years of progressively successful experience in transportation, dispatch operations, communications, and/or public administration.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong time management and organization skills
- Superb ability to maintain an ongoing awareness of Transportation Division operations, plans and expectations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding ability to work within strict timelines and handle multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to obtain a CDL within the first year in the position

Salary Range : $89,146 - $146,868
