Job description

Heart and Vascular Center of West TN is looking to add a Physician Extender to our team. This position will be based in Jackson, TN, and it will include a rotation between JMCGH and our Jackson clinic location.

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive, quality healthcare services under approved Medical Protocols and the supervision of the Primary and Back-Up Preceptors.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Create a list of patients admitted and scheduled for out-patient procedures at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital (JMCGH) on a daily basis and upload into patient tracking software.
2. Accompany supervising physician to round on all admitted patients.
3. Help coordinate discharge visits, review medications and discharge instructions, and schedule follow-up appointment
4. Review patient charts to ensure accuracy with orders for procedures, informed consents, labs, and schedules for procedures.
5. Schedule procedures as directed by the physician.
6. Complete various rounding duties, such as:
7. Documentation in the process note.
8. Write any necessary notes
9. Obtaining any test ordered- make sure that the tests have been completed and added to the chart.
10. Reviewing labs- notify physician and address per protocol.
11. Provide patient education
12. Patient Satisfaction- notify physician of any concerns or questions ****

Our perfect candidate has/is:

1. Experience with various EMR systems- Allscripts, Cerner, Epic
2. Prior experience as a Physician Extender
3. Prior exposure to the hospital setting
4. Cardiology experience
5. A great team player
6. A strong desire to provide extraordinary patient care
