Summary
Interior Designer Studio by Florcraft Carpet One is expanding our services to include more customer design support. We are looking for an experienced professional Interior Designer who works directly with customers applying their creativity, design skills and industry knowledge to make distinct product selections and create beautiful homes and interior spaces. This position is for a self- starter, well organized, creative person who is eager to contribute to the growth of a unique business and provide outstanding customer service. Hours, salary and bonus potential are determined by skill level, and years of experience.
Duties Responsibilities include: - Works with clients to determine initial goals and requirements for the space to be designed.
- Collaborates with architects, engineers, painters, and builders to further understand how interior space should function, appear, and be furnished.
- Analyzes movement and use patterns of the space.
- Prepares sketches or other visual aids to demonstrate preliminary designs to client.
- Consults with client to select materials, furnishings, and d�cor.
- Uses design applications to prepare and illustrate final plans.
- Determines timelines and project costs and presents accurate estimates to clients.
- Orders or obtains necessary materials, adhering to project and budget specifications.
- Oversees the installation of materials, furniture, and other design elements.
- Ensures client satisfaction by visiting the project on completion with the client; resolves any complaints or concerns.
- Maintains current knowledge of trends and materials, techniques, and other developments in interior design.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements - Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to apply a sense of style to create aesthetically pleasing interiors.
- Strong visual design skills including proportion and aesthetics.
- Basic understanding of building codes and inspection regulations related to interiors.
- Submission of a design portfolio demonstrating your design skills.
- A Degree in Interior Design is preferred, but not required. Industry certification is a plus.
- Excellent time management, record keeping and project management skills
- Experience working with customer relationship management systems
- Experience specifying and ordering all products and being responsible for accurately checking all order acknowledgements and communicating shipping schedules
- This position also requires proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word and experience using electronic mail. Excellent spelling, grammar, written, verbal, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate professionally with staff, customers and vendors
Physical Requirements: - Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to distinguish between colors.

- Bachelor?s degree in Interior Design or related field
- Coursework in computer-aided design (CAD)
- Interior Design certification
- At least one year of related experience.
