Job description

The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SSBS) in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the University of New England (UNE) invites applications for an Adjunct Assistant Teaching Professor to teach Animal Learning and Behavior Labs in Spring 2024. The successful candidate will join an energetic, dedicated, and productive group of faculty with expertise across the social sciences including anthropology, archaeology, political sciences, psychology, and sociology. The start date for the position is January 17, 2024.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach 4 sections of PSY 384 L – Animal Learning and Behavior Laboratory. The sections are scheduled to meet Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2:00 – 4:50pm on the Biddeford Campus from Wednesday, January 17 through Friday, May 10, 2024.

Qualifications

A master’s degree (or bachelor’s degree with relevant experience) in psychology, animal behavior, or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment. Candidates with a Ph.D. and/or undergraduate teaching experience are preferred. Basic animal handling skills are required. Familiarity with Med Associates scientific software and apparatus is preferred.
