The California Department of Justice is seeking to hire a highly motivated individual who is detail oriented with good organizational skills to serve as a Personnel Technician (PT) I for the Department's Certification Unit. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a great team of individuals, then this is the perfect position for you!
Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I of the Personnel Liaison and Certification Unit, the PT I will play a vital role in the hiring process by responding to certification requests from departmental liaisons and posting job announcements. Specifically, the PT I will:
- Publish Job Controls on Examination and Certification Online System.
- Generate informal and formal certification lists.
- Generate, send, receive, sort and code employment inquiry letters.
- Receive, date stamp, and file applications from individuals responding to inquiry letters.
- Code certification lists to indicate whether individuals are interested in applying for positions.
- Clear applicants from eligibility lists upon hire.
- Update candidate records related to contact information or employment preferences.
- Process withhold requests from the Examination Unit.

Special Requirements
- A fingerprint check will be required.
