Job description
Summary:
The position entails assisting in research and development in the emerging technology field of large-scale 3D printing for applications such as construction. Responsibilities include performing laboratory and field testing of cementitious materials and other activities related to 3D printing of cementitious structures. Familiarity with fabrication/prototyping of mechanisms is a plus.
Must-have Technical Qualifications:
BS or MS in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related Engineering fields.
Plan, conduct, and document laboratory experiments for evaluation of new or improved materials and processes.
Innovatively explore/create new possibilities and applications.
Required General Qualifications:
Understand and conform to relevant safety standards.
Be deadline oriented.
Ability to manage changing priorities and ambiguity, while remaining calm, controlled and professional.
Have ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods.
Have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Integrity, motivation and teamwork spirit in a startup environment.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Work experience in a concrete laboratory or at concrete construction sites.
Familiarity with concrete standard tests (testing slump, compressive strength, etc.)
Be able to troubleshoot mechanical systems.
Familiarity with schematics and technical drawings.
