Overview

Rapiscan Systems, designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs, and other contraband.  Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as, airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations and nuclear facilities.  As the world’s leading security screening provider, Rapiscan Systems provides state-of the-art products, solutions, and services to meet our customers’ most demanding threat detection needs.

 

The Software group is looking for a C++ Softwae Development Engineer who is highly motivated, results-driven, and passionate about technologies to join our growing team to change the way the world interacts with security screening systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop C++ based middleware for ScanOS
• Add support for new X-Ray scanners and supporting HW into ScanOS
• Create interface for and support the integration of threat detection algorithms into ScanOS
• Perform code reviews of other team memers code to maintain the quality of ScanOS 
• Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork
• Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct
• It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
• Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

• BSC Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Min 5 years of experience
• Excellent teamworking and communication skills
• Knowledge of programming languages, C++ & Python
• Awareness of modern C++ patterns and best practices
• Knowledge of Operating Systems, Ubuntu
• Knowledge of intersystem communication architectures, network and local
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
