Job description

Position summary: Drive an Aerial Bucket truck or van with a capacity of under 26,000 GVW, primarily for the construction/installation of Broadband Systems utilizing support strand coax or fiber optic cables. Required to assist the Lineman/Foreman while constructing said Systems. Load and unload truck with equipment for daily operations. Must learn to climb utility poles with an attempt to become a Lineman.

Tasks:

• Load and unload trucks. Pull cable lasher, supply lineman/foreman with tools and equipment.
• Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
• Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
• Maintain records such as vehicle logs, in accordance with regulations.
• Other Tasks as determined by Management.
• Watch Fiber reels during pulling operations.
