Mgr, Financial Reporting
Overall Job Summary
This position is responsible for leading the Financial Reporting and technical accounting functions. This position ensures that external regulatory reporting, certain internal financial reporting and other technical accounting functions are completed in an accurate and timely fashion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
Coordinate, prepare and review submissions required to be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) including extensive communication with executive management and department heads throughout Tractor Supply Company (TSC) andeXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging.
Mentor, train, supervise and monitor goal achievement for a team of professional and clerical team members.
Prepare and review the monthly internal financial reporting package, financial metrics package, board financial package, and other related analysis used by top Company executives in order to analyze financial results, as well as support quarterly earnings releases and conference calls.
Prepare and review the critical assumptions, calculations, and journal entries that support earnings per share, stock-based compensation, employee stock purchase plan, cash flow statement, equity roll forward, share repurchases and dividends.
Research and analyze changes in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SEC compliance issues, and related accounting topics.
Assist with updating and maintaining internal control documentation and testing for the general accounting area in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Review and develop additional month-end reports used by various leaders in order to analyze financial performance.
Support the activities of both internal and external auditors throughout the year by providing requested documentation, explanations of large or unusual transactions, and understanding of critical accounting processes.
Required Qualifications
Experience :
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred. Master’s degree in Accounting or related field is desired.
Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered
Professional Certifications : Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
Other knowledge, skills or abilities :
Understanding of SEC rules and regulations, as well as preparing and filing SEC documentation.
Knowledge of XBRL tagging.
Extensive knowledge of GAAP and new accounting developments.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office.
