JOB SUMMARY:
Ranken Jordan is currently looking for a Patient Care Tech (PCT), Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Nurse Assistant (NA) . This position is full time (.9 FTE) based on 3x12 hour shifts and it is not suitable for Student Nurse Interns. If interested in a SNI position, please apply on our career website. In this PCT/CNA/NA role you will follow established policies and procedures, render safe, appropriate nursing care and treatments under the direction of a Supervising Staff Nurse for neonatal, pediatric and/or adolescent patients with a wide variety of medical conditions. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the policies and mission of Ranken Jordan Pediatric Hospital. Protects patients, visitors and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patient Care : Performs prescribed and ordered, safe and appropriate nursing care and treatments under the direction of the Supervising Staff Nurse. Appropriate nursing care includes but is not limited to: obtaining vital signs, ADLs (bathing, assisting with dressing, oral care, toileting/diapering, oral feeding, tube feeding), obtaining patient measurements (weight, height, OFC), measuring and recording intake and output, transferring patients in and out of bed, catheter care, and making occupied and unoccupied beds.
Communication : Uses clear, concise and legible documentation of information in the medical record. Provides accurate, concise and ongoing report to Supervising Staff Nurse and team members. Maintains strict confidentiality regarding patients and other protected health information at all times. Consistently creates and contributes to an exceptional patient experience by establishing a compassionate environment through timely responses to patients' needs, practicing open communication, while consistently providing physical, emotional, and psychological support to patients and caregivers.
Planning : Plans and organizes workload, setting priorities for optimal patient care. Functions as a member of the team as measured by active participation in department initiatives, unit meetings, committees, and special projects.
Professionalism : Functions within the standards set forth by the Clinical Services Department and Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital. Represents Ranken Jordan in a professional manner through communication and appearance. Knows and follows the mission of Ranken Jordan.
Safety: Delivers quality patient care under the supervision of a Staff Nurse in the safest manner possible. Follows Ranken Jordan policy regarding hand hygiene. May assist in patient transport as directed and supervised by Staff Nurse. Advocates and provides support for patients during physician visits, clinic visits and emergency visits to the hospital.
Education : Attends in-service educational opportunities when available.
All other duties as assigned by the Clinical Services Manager/Supervising Staff Nurse.
QUALIFICATIONS:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: These include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, pulling, pushing, standing, carrying, and lifting of light loads (up to 35 lb.).
